Classic Game Room HD - MORTAL KOMBAT vs DC UNIVERSE review 1

Posted by admin on August 28th, 2009 and filed under games | 25 Comments »

Part 1 of 2. Watch in High Definition. Classic Game Room reviews MORTAL KOMBAT vs DC UNIVERSE for the Xbox 360 video game console, MK vs DC is also available for Sony Playstation 3 PS3. This Mortal Kombal vs DC Universe review features gameplay footage from the game in HD. This is an awesome fighting 3D fighting game, no way around it. From Midway, Warner Bros. and DC Comics comes this bizarre yet enjoyable combination of the Mortal Kombat franchise and the DC comic book characters like Superman, Batman, Lex Luther, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Catwoman. The Mortal Kombat characters that you know and love are here for mortal combat including Raiden, Sonya Blade, Jax, Scorpion, Sub Zero and Liu Chang. Which universe will you choose to fight in? That’s the beauty of this game, fight a parallel storyline with one of two opposing sides. The writing in this game is campy, impossible and awesome. Fatality moves for Mortal Kombat and DC characters are in the game, and although the violence has been toned down a bit with DC Heroic Brutality (seriously??), the Fatality moves are fun to watch and nicely rendered in 3D animation. In many ways this is a superior game, Mortal Kombat vs. Soul Calibur IV or Virtua Fighter 5… who wins? CGRHD likes this game better, short and easy to memorize button combos, great gameplay and that awesome mixture of DC and MK characters. One of the better fighting games out there for the 360 and PS3. Classic Game Room HD reviews new games with a respect for the classics, and classics with a love of old school gaming.

Classic Game Room HD - DEAD SPACE review Part 1 Xbox 360

Posted by admin on August 16th, 2009 and filed under games | 25 Comments »

Part 1 of 2 in HIGH DEFINITION. Classic Game Room reviews DEAD SPACE for the Xbox 360 video game console. This Dead Space review shows gameplay and footage from this amazing game in HD High Definition game play video. Wow! It’s like they made this game for Classic Game Room! It may not have huge Atari sized pixels or ninjas, but what it does have is awesome science fiction ambience, sound design and story telling! You play as Isaac and crawl through a space ship infested with horrible aliens or mutated people, all of whom are trying to decapitate you and rip your limbs from your torso. Gameplay is solid, fast and intense. The video game reminds CGR of Alien, Event Horizon and the video games Bioshock, Resistance and Fallout 3. All good things. Dead Space is somewhat of a horror style 3rd person shooter (should have a FPS first person shooter option) set in space and featuring an awesome Sci-fi movie inspired plot. Hours of boring cutscenes are abandoned in favor of in-game storytelling through some really nice stylized screens and audio logs. There are lots of weapons including cutters and flamethrowers, each gun has 2 different modes of fire. Dead Space is sure to please those looking for a top-notch A-list shooter on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 PS3 or PC. We use the 360 version of the game for this review but we’d imaging, from what we’ve seen, that the PS3 Dead Space gameplay and footage is very similar if not identical. The game is awesome.

Classic Game Room HD - TIME SPLITTERS 1 for PS2

Posted by admin on August 16th, 2009 and filed under learning games | 25 Comments »

Classic Game Room HD reviews TIME SPLITTERS for Playstation 2, the first one! Released in 2000 from Free Radical, published by Eidos, Time Splitters is one of the best shooter series ever created and the most underrated. Play as a variety of wacky characters in this Goldeneye style FPS where laser guns and proximity mines are the name of the game. This CGRHD review of Time Splitters has gameplay from the first Timesplitters showing game play on PS2. Play with up 2 four people using the PS2 multitap. The Playstation 2 never skips a beat as it runs Timesplitters 1 fast and smooth with no framerate issues. The sound effects are hilarious as are the character animations. The storyline mode is challenging and fairly short but the multiplayer mode is one of the best out there. The game keeps track of pretty much every statistic you’d ever want to know (and some you don’t). The fate of the Time Splitters series is unknown at the moment, fans of Timesplitters want a PS3 and Xbox 360 version asap (and Vectrex). Bring back Time Splitters, one of the greatest games ever made! It was fun, it had excellent gameplay, furious action and awesome weapons. Time Splitters is outta sight.

Classic Game Room HD - PROTOTYPE review

Posted by admin on August 4th, 2009 and filed under games | 25 Comments »

Classic Game Room HD reviews PROTOTYPE from Radical and Activision for Xbox 360, also available for Playstation 3 PS3. This Prototype review has gameplay video from Prototype video game showing game play in HD as CGR wreaks havoc in a well rendered New York City. Drive tanks down Wall Street, now that’s payback for your 401k! Alex Mercer is the prototype created by a horrible government conspiracy. Seek revenge against your creators and pretty much whatever or whoever gets in your way. Consume other people and morph into their form, throw taxis at people and jump off the Empire State Building. Prototype is darned fun and a violent, explody, bangy, crashy joy to play. It runs in High Definition and the Xbox 360 version has achievement points for Prototype. Earn weapon and jump upgrades (and more) and have a great time with side missions, challenges and other chaos that you create in Prototype! CGRHD reviews Xbox 360 games as an Xbox 360 reviewer reviewing video games like Prototype.
