I mean that I have pretty much no experience with programs related to to creating games. Where should i start to learn the basics of these programs (books or websites, whatever), any advice would be useful. I really need to decide where i want to go with my life when i graduate high school, and i want to be prepared. Also, if it helps, all my gaming time is spent on the xbox 360. Thanks again.
Okay many things go into video games:
-Programming
-Art
-Sound(music and sounds like voices and effects)
-Story (storywritting and scripting)
-and some other stuffs
First pick which thing you want to do whether its art or programming and study up and learn it.
Art involves drawing or using a computer to model 3d art and programming involves technical stuff… I can;t really explain it so I’ll show you. The next thing I will write will be a programming incerpt from c++ (a programming language) that will make your computer go to a black screen and write "HELLO" in white leters:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main(void)
{
cout << "Hello" << endl;
system("PAUSE");
}
Effectively this makes the computer write hello to the screen and wait until a key is pressed until it returns to whatever it was doing before the program was run.
Music and Sound relates to various things like making blood and gore nosies to voice actors for characters abd other speaking things in the game.
Okay I’m not explain the rest, do your homework online and research and study it yourself…. good luck.

I want to know if there are any good websites with Games and Learning Features for 3 years old and up. Looking for simple sites that My 3 and half year old can use. Are there any that anyone Knows of?
BRAINPOP.COM
Check that out, my kids love it and think yours will too.
I just noticed they also have BRAINPOPJR.COM, maybe it is better for you.
Another fun one is CRAYOLA.COM
If you can think of the toys your child play with, they probably have a website too. Just use Google and look for them.
I am looking for Wii games that are educational, fun, something that lean towards learning, education, improvements, trainings, etc.
I know there is Big Brain Academy, is there anything else?
Thanks.
i think big brain acadamy is the only one so far
I don’t have a DS, but I have a Wii. There is a game called Big Brain Academy, and I think they make it on Wii. Its a bit too much for my 3 year old, but my 5 year old loves it.
I actually just wrote an article on the best Wii games for young kids, if you are interested:

Well my son is is grade one and is having problems with letters and numbers so I thought the computer would be good now all I need is help I do not want to be going all over the net I was hoping there would be something on your site.
At (http://games.yahoo.com/games/), there are many enjoyable and even some educational games to be played. Unfortunately, nearly all of them are made for children and adults over the age of about 10. There are plenty of good CD rom games out there that can help your child with numbers and letters.

My son is talking a little bit and says a few words here and there. We know he understands what we are saying and will go get a certain toy if we name it, etc.
I was just wondering what type of activities you do with your 2 year olds to help them learn to say more words and do certain skills. I want to break up the day in different types of activites, so he is learning more things that are age appropriate.
Some of the typical things we do are reading books and I started asking him to point out what was on the page and he has started to get good with that. We stack wooden blocks. We try and put different shapes into the correct holes. He watches educational programs, but I don’t want it to take over his day. I started to take pictures with my digital camera with different things around the house to make flash cards with. I also did this with family members that live out of state that we don’t see on a regular basis.
Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated.
sounds life you are on the right track. and of course reading is the most important thing that you can do at this point. as long as you are talking with him in a normal tone, and not baby talk, and talking with him a lot! i don’t know how far i would go with flash cards, although making a picture book with all of these pictures of family members is a great idea. flipping through the book and just saying the name of each person is perfect. not only can you ask him to point out things on the page, but you can point out things as well, things that you know he may not know yet. try books with more pictures than words at this age, but simple pictures. (example-golden books are a no-no, way too many words, and much to complicated pictures) Keeping his attention is key.
Music is also a great way to build language. Letter recognition can also start as this age with things as simple as the foam letter that stick to the walls of the shower or bath when wet. My daughter has gotten a new set of these each year from Santa and LOVES them still at age 6!
just remember not to overwhelm you son, and make sure the activities that you are doing are age appropriate and that his environment continues to be one rich with language. and don’t forget that all child development happens at different rates for each child! Sounds like you guys are doing great so far!
i guess a good question from me would be how many months is he? closer to 2 or 3? if he is closer to 2, sounds like you are fine. if he is closer to 3 let me know and i would be happy to discuss some other options with you in a more private setting.
For my future 4th grader. Thank you!
