  • In Bleach why is Kyouraku’s zanpakuto not the two little kids who are playing all the games with Ukitake?

Posted by admin on December 31st, 2009 and filed under kids games | 3 Comments »

In the manga his sword’s power is to make children’s games real. I would’ve guessed the two kids playing games should have been his.

Ukitake seems more playful and kind than kyouraku who is laid back and cool. Kyouraku doesn’t like to play games btw but it seems Ukitake is more acceptable. That could be a factor.

Does watching kids games or playing video affect the video card of a computer?

Posted by admin on December 12th, 2009 and filed under kids games | 2 Comments »

I’m asking this coz my gateway desktop pc which is mainly used for kids plays does not show any signal now. The pc starts very well, boots up as normal then the VDU goes off. Kindly advise me on what could be wrong with this gateway pc.

    Hi there;

could be a number of things but I would check by booting into safe mode. To do this you start the computer and while it is booting up press F8 and the choose safe mode with networking. If it doesn’t get to safe mode then there is a good chance that the video card has failed. If you do get into safe mode then reinstall the video drivers for your PC (Download them from the manufacturer’s website) Reboot and see if that solves the problem.

You could also try a system restore, try and pick a date that was before the problem started. To do this click programs, accessories, system tools and then system restore (It will not delete anything) and maybe this will solve the problem.

Also check and make sure that all the cables are tight.

If none of these work, look at a new video card.

Kids playing games and watching video’s will not cause damage to the video card, video cards eventually give up the ghost.

    Good Luck

What are some good classroom games for kids?

Posted by admin on December 5th, 2009 and filed under kids games | 3 Comments »

What are some good classroom games for kids? The kids would have to stay seated so no games with too much walking about. And I’ll be giving prizes so there would have to be only one winner. There would be about 30 kids playing. I really have no idea so any help would be brilliant, thanks.

Consider dividing the students into smaller groups or even partners to play games such as UNO, checkers, PHONICS games, dominoes, chess, Hangman, backgammon, parcheesi , battleship, tic tac toe etc. Try asking the kids what their favorite games are.

There are also all of the circle or group games such as Dollar, Dollar( involves kids passing something from one to another while the person in the middle tries to guess where the object is), Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves ( Person in the middle tries to guess who is changing a pattern of motions), Going on a Bear Hunt ( Repeat song. Leader says a line, students repeat it and the the actions… easily changed ) , Twenty questions ( select a person or an object, students may ask up to 20 questions with yes, no, or I don’t know answers) . Have the students make up a story, always stopping in the middle of something to allow the next person to jump in. Do the memory games such as I am going on a camping trip and I am going to take ___. The next person repeats what has been said and adds something. By the end of the game someone ( you maybe) has to repeat all 30 of the students’ names and what each will take.

Prizes need not be expensive. For example, I have used animal crackers, vanilla wafers, Clementines, apples, stickers, calendar pictures, coupons for computer time, carnival or book fair coupons etc. Be sure to check for food allergies and school policies before handing out prizes. Consider some activities which stress cooperation and fun rather than just competition. The class will overall run more smoothly. Do you really want 30 highly competitive students in the same classroom? Also, if this is for a party , for example, recruit some help such as a parent or teacher .

What are some fun little kids games to play?

I volunteer at my church in Sunday School working with 1st grade through 3rd grade. Before each lesson we have to get the kids pumped up! Do you know any fun games we can play indoors?

You can have them play four corners. What you do is have one kid cover his eyes and guess a corner (1, 2, 3, 4), and if anyone is in the corner he calls, then they are out. Last person in is the person who gets to call the corners in the next round.

I am considering using linux but I am concerned that I wont be able to play games or kids software?

Posted by admin on November 16th, 2009 and filed under kids games | 1 Comment »

Is it worth using Linux if you cannot play games or play the kids software. Is there a windows emulator available? Or is it too much hassle and not worth it. I use Fedora at work and like it and have used Ubuntu too. I do not have enough disk space to partition the drive and put both OS’s on.

If you want to play games on Linux you should look at Cedega by Transgaming. They have tweaked Wine (the Windows application layer) to support many games. But be aware, game designers live in a Windows only world and MS encourages this with free or very cheap (although proprietary) development software in order to lock gamers into the Windows paradigm.

So, with the Cedega team and other open source developers having to basically guess the (closed source) application protocols and APIs, many games might not work as expected, and many new games might not work at all, yet.

Hard drives are cheap nowadays. You’d probably be better off installing a second one and installing Linux on that. Make sure that you have a FAT/FAT32 partition in order to transfer data between Windows and Linux (Linux can’t read NTFS and Windows doesn’t read any Linux file system).

What are some fun contests and games for kids?

Posted by admin on November 13th, 2009 and filed under kids games | 2 Comments »

We have an event where we have to play games with kids, but basically make a lot of contests and stuff like obstacle courses and things like that. We are already doing the "egg and spoon race" and kind of obstacle course with 4 kids that have their eyes closed and a 5th one that has to lead them through the maze. :) What other ideas do you have? Waiting for suggestions. Thx
