How entertaining are the Brain Age games for the DS/DS Lite?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under brain games | 1 Comment »

I’m considering buying a Nintendo DS just for this game, because the concept seems to be pretty awesome, and I’m assuming there’d be other games, but there’s a bundle on sale with Brain Age 2 calling out to me. Are the games actually fun and do they have hours of playability?

I have both Brain Age and Brain Age 2. I really like them! They won’t make you busy for hours in a day, but they will be fun for weeks. It’s a daily training thing, and with each day you play you unlock more training modes. And it’s much more fun if you share it with other people too.
Both have sudoku and Brain Age 2 has a mini game, sorta like Tetris, to keep you busy in between trainings (so you could be playing for hours if you really like sudoku).

I would definately get it. There are so many other great games you can get when you get sick of Brain Age and there will be so many more coming out, and also WiFi playing.

A lot of people don’t like doing math problems for fun (although Brain Age is much more than math problems)–actually, a lot of people don’t like thinking for fun, so if you’re not into that, don’t get Brain Age.

Can you play different games in a Gameboy advance?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under games | 2 Comments »

I have got a game boy black and white and three games and now I have just got myself another game boy but this time its a game boy advance will the games from my first game boy fit into my new game boy ? In my picture of my new game boy the games look different from each other so I was just wondering do the games have to be from the advance?

you can play a game boy advance game on a old game boy (unless u brake the game boy and force it to work) but just go buy a Nintendo DS or a Game boy SP that can play ANY game boy, and game boy avance games.

Do you know of any Japanese learning games?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under learning games | 2 Comments »

I heard of a MMORPG that teaches people chinese. Something like this would be great for japanese, it may exist but i havent heard of it. Im up for any games though, crosswords, matching, ect.

Also does anyone know of any videos, like mock anime shows that teach japanese?

You can try these games although I don’t know how helpful they are:

    http://lrnj.com/

I don’t know if you’re looking for Kana or Kanji but the games should cover the three types of writing.

What are some games for kids to play at the beach?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under games for kids | 3 Comments »

I need ideas of things to do with a bunch of kids (anywhere from 5 to 12 in a group) both in the water and on the sand. The only thing is, I’m in charge of the swim time of a retreat, and there’s also a sports time - so when we’re out on the sand, I can’t just have them play soccer or something; they’ll just have done that in sports…
Are there any games besides like marco polo and throwing a beach ball around? The groups are of different ages, from 6 to 18…

You can see who finds the most sand crabs in the wet sand. P.S. they don’t bite. See who can stay under water the longest. See who makes the best sand castle. As a team you can see who buries their partner the fastest.

    Thats all i got

How many 90’s kid computer games can you think of?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under kid games | 3 Comments »

I had so many as a kid but i can only remember the names of a few. Some of my favorites were:

    Mooky Takes Manhattan
    Jump Start First Grade
    Interactive Reading Journey
    The Land Before Time
    Paint Write and Play

I was in the sonic games of the month club and i know i got most of them from there, i just can’t remember what any of them were called! Whoever can name off the most that I had wins the 10 pts.

Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego?

    If thats from the 90s….

What educational activities do you recommend for 2+mos baby?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under educational activities | 4 Comments »

It could be DVD’s, books, specific toys, etc. thanks.

I recommend singing and talking to your baby as much as possible. At 2 months +, there’s benefit in anything you sing or say, so make it fun/easy for yourself. Don’t worry about learning kids’ songs at this point. Just sing your favourites and read aloud — poems, magazines, books.

Also, make eye contact with your baby and speak directly to him or her. Babies at that age like to see faces and love when their parents smile and talk to them lovingly.

As far as toys go, anything with basic black and white or primary colour patterns is good, but the most important things at this young age are: holding your baby as much as possible, talking/singing and responding when they cry by picking them up and comforting them.

Is there a site where I can download -not kids games- for free?

Posted by admin on July 30th, 2009 and filed under kids games | 4 Comments »

I like adventure games and action games. I used to go to a site which I can’t recall… Is there any other sites out there??? I’ve looked but all I see is lil’kids games!!!

You can go to bored.com. It has anything and everything to do when you’re bored! They have a lot of fun, pointless, but addicting games that you an just play online or download. Fun! (It’s great time waster!)
